This article discusses in-app file and photo annotation, including tools, permissions, and usage across your project. #### Key Features ✏️ Mark up project documents and photos instantly - no need for external tools. 🔄 Edit, move, or delete annotations at any time for flexible documentation.  👥 Track who added or changed annotations, improving collaboration and accountability. 🗂️ Access annotations anywhere the file appears in Ressio - no duplication required. 🔐 Control annotation permissions for different team member roles. #### File Preview Select any PDF, JPEG, or PNG file to open a preview of the file directly in Ressio. ![filepreview\_img](https://43531900.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/43531900/hubfs/filepreview_img.png?width=670&height=318&name=filepreview_img.png) --- #### Annotating Files and Photos Select **Annotate** to enter annotation mode.  ![ressio-annotate-tools-clean](https://43531900.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/43531900/hubfs/ressio-annotate-tools-clean.gif?width=670&height=370&name=ressio-annotate-tools-clean.gif) Annotation tools include: - Text tool: Add bold, red-note text anywhere - Box tool: Draw attention to specific areas by drawing a box around them - Arrow tool: Point out important details - Highlight tool: Emphasize parts of the document in yellow - Freehand draw: Sketch directly onto the file as needed --- #### Managing Annotated Files and Photos Use the Selector to select any annotation and move, edit, or delete it. Select **Hide Annotations** to hide any annotations on the file or photo. ![ressio-hide-annotations-toggle](https://43531900.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hub/43531900/hubfs/ressio-hide-annotations-toggle.gif?width=670&height=370&name=ressio-hide-annotations-toggle.gif) 💡Annotations display on printed and downloaded versions of files and photos set to **Show Annotations**. --- #### Annotation Visibility Annotated files retain their markups in Specifications and other instances of that file.  ‼️Annotations do **not** display on the Plan Hub version of files and photos. To view annotation history, details, and track who created and modified each item: 1. Select the **Menu** icon (three dots) next to the name of the file or photo 2. Select **Company settings** 2. Select **Team Members** 3. Select **Settings** 4.
