HEIC (High Efficiency Image Format) thumbnails / previews are not supported for direct viewing in Ressio, or in most browser-based applications. This is because web browsers generally do not natively support the HEIC file format.
What can I do instead?
You can still download the HEIC file from Ressio and open it using your device’s native image viewer (such as the Photos app on macOS or Windows). This allows you to view the image in its original quality outside the browser.
Tip: If you frequently work with HEIC files and want to avoid downloading each time, consider converting them to JPEG or PNG format before uploading to Ressio.
📱 How to change your camera settings to avoid HEIC files
On iOS (iPhone):
-
Open the Settings app.
-
Scroll down and tap Camera.
-
Tap Formats.
-
Select Most Compatible.
This will ensure your photos are saved as JPEGs instead of HEIC files.
On Samsung (Android):
-
Open the Camera app.
-
Tap the Settings gear icon (usually in the top corner).
-
Scroll down and find Picture format or HEIF images.
-
Toggle HEIF images off to save photos as JPEGs instead.
