Generating a Plan Hub QR Code for a Project

Discover how to generate and use a unique QR codes in your Ressio project's Plan Hub.


In this article, you will learn how to generate unique QR codes for your Plan Hub in a Ressio project. This feature allows you to share project files, specifications, and information publicly with anyone on site including customers, vendors, sub-contractors, etc.

  • Share project files, specifications, and information with a large group of people, including vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Easily accessible information through a QR code that can be printed out and post on-site.
  • Enhances on-site project management by allowing anyone to scan the QR code and access the Plan Hub.
 

Navigating to Project Settings and Enable Plan Hub

To start, navigate to your project settings within your Ressio project.

 

In the project settings,  go to the 'Sharing' tab. Toggle on the button to enable the Plan Hub. You will also see the ability to enable sharing 'Specifications' through the plan hub, toggle that on if you want specifications to be included.

🔈The link displayed will be associated with your Plan Hub, which can be shared with anyone.

Generating and Using the QR Code

Click on 'Get QR Code' and the QR code will be generated. You can print this QR code and display it on the job site. The QR code that is generated is public facing.

🎗️All the information in your Plan Hub, including the description and any files you add, will be accessible via this QR code. If you enable 'Specifications', that will be available too but "Read Only".

Creating Unique QR Codes from the Plan Hub View

From the 'Sharing' tab under project settings, you can access and view the Plan Hub. After clicking the 'View Plan Hub' button, you will be brought to the Plan Hub and you can also generate the QR code using the "Generate QR code" button in the top right hand corner.

Anyone with the QR code will directly access the associated files or file group. If you are on the 'Files' page and generate code, that is where the QR code will bring the viewer when they scan the QR code. 

You can also download, print, or copy the QR code for sharing.

Searching Files

You can also search for specific files and generate a QR code to view a group or single file like a "plan".

Filter and Create QR Codes for Specific Files or Specs

On the specification tab in the Plan hub, you can filter and narrow files before generating a QR code. Hit the filter icon in the top right next to the search field and filter by:

  • Cost Items
  • Selections
    • Draft
    • Released
    • Completed

Apply different filters or remove them to generate QR codes for other views—such as a single image or all files.
