Managing cost types & unit types

Cost types & unit types help provide additional detail to cost items in the estimate. To manage (add/edit/deactivate) cost types or unit types, navigate to the Company Settings page, and click into the respective page to get started.

Cost Types

To manage the cost types available throughout your projects, navigate to the "Company settings" page and click on the "Cost type" page.

How do I edit cost types and unit types_ - Step 3 (1)

The following actions can be performed with these cost types:

  • Add - To add a cost type, click the "Add New" button at the bottom of the data table. Click into the blank cost type once added to give it a name and an optional description
  • Edit - Click into the "Name" or "Description" cells in the data table to edit the respective cell data
  • Activate/Deactivate - Select the checkbox to the left of the cost type name to activate or deactivate the cost type.

Active cost types: Represented with a blue check box, are visible in the cost type dropdown in the estimate

Inactive cost types: Represented by an unchecked check box, are not visible in the cost type dropdown in the estimate



Unit Costs

To manage the unit types available throughout your projects, navigate to the "Company settings" page and click on the "Unit type" page.

How do I edit cost types and unit types_ - Step 12

The following actions can be performed with these unit types:

  • Add - To add a uni type, click the "Add New" button at the bottom of the data table. Click into the blank unit type once added to give it a name and an optional description
  • Edit - Click into the "Name" or "Description" cells in the data table to edit the respective cell data
  • Activate/Deactivate - Select the checkbox to the left of the cost type name to activate or deactivate the unit type.

Active unit types: Represented with a blue check box, are visible in the unit type dropdown in the estimate

Inactive unit types: Represented by an unchecked check box, are not visible in the unit type dropdown in the estimate
