Where to Find Your Notification Settings
Your notification preferences are managed in your personal account settings, not in Company Settings. Each user controls their own preferences. You can get to your profile on every page.
- Select your profile icon or name in the bottom left hand corner of Ressio by clicking on the 3 dots.

- Select Notification settings.
- Review the list of notification types and choose your delivery method for each.
💡 Every user on your team has their own notification settings. If a team member is not receiving updates, they will need to check and update their own preferences.
Account Settings
Under Account settings, you can add phone numbers, change your profile and connect accounts. Under security, you can set a password.
🎓 To learn more about Account settings, read Ressio login options.
Email Notifications
Email is the default notification channel in Ressio. You must have at least one notification channel enabled at all times.
Turn email notifications on or off
- Go to your channel preferences.
- Find the notification type you want to adjust (email or SMS).
- Toggle the email option on or off for that notification type.
If the email toggle is not responding:
- Make sure you have another notification channel enabled first. Ressio requires at least one active channel. If SMS is not set up, you cannot turn email off.
- Try refreshing the page and toggling again.
- Check that your account email address is correct under Account Settings.
💡 If you are not receiving email notifications, check your spam or junk folder first. Add support@ressiosoftware.com to your contacts to make sure Ressio emails reach your inbox.
SMS Notifications
SMS notifications send text messages to your phone when activity happens on a project. You must verify your phone number before SMS notifications can be turned on.
Set up SMS notifications
- Under channel preferences, find SMS under email.
- Click "Verify phone number".
- Add phone number and hit "Send verification code".

- Enter the verification code sent to your phone.
- Once verified, toggle SMS on for the notification types you want.
Turn SMS off
- Go to your notification preferences.
- Toggle SMS off for the notification types you want to stop receiving.
You can also text STOP to the number you received a message from to opt out through your carrier. To opt back in, text START to the same number.
⚠️ Opting out via text message is managed by your mobile carrier. It will stop SMS notifications but your email notifications will remain active.
Notification Types
Ressio sends notifications for the following types of activity. You can turn each one on or off independently.

Messages - Conversations between customers, vendors and contractors
Approvals - Proposals, change orders, purchase orders, invoices, and selections
Daily Logs - Daily summaries about project progress
Schedule - Updates about task assignments
To-Dos - Updates about to-do assignments and completions
Warranty claims - Updates about warranty claim assignments and status changes
Payments - Updates about invoice payment status and processing
💡 You do not need to have all notification types enabled. Turn on only the ones that are relevant to how you work.
Managing Notifications for Team Members
As an admin or company owner, you can view your team's user list, but each team member controls their own notification preferences from their own account. You cannot change another user's notification settings on their behalf.
If a team member is not receiving notifications:
- Ask them to log in to Ressio and go to their profile in the bottom left hand corner.
- Have them open Notification settings.
- Confirm that at least one channel (email or SMS) is toggled on for the relevant notification types.
- If they are using SMS, confirm their phone number is verified.
If a customer (homeowner) is not receiving notifications:
Customer-facing notifications such as selection releases, proposal invitations, and change order requests are sent automatically when you release or send a document. These go to the email address on the customer's account.
- Open the project and go to Project settings->Customer tab.
- Scroll down to the customer information and confirm the correct email address is listed for the customer.

- Ask the customer to check their spam or junk folder.
- Resend the invitation or document if needed.
💡 Clients receive notifications based on actions you take, such as releasing a selection or sending a proposal. They do not have a notification preferences panel the same way your internal team does.
