Why does Ressio look different for me?

Understand why screens, buttons, and statuses can vary based on your role, company settings, project stage, and current context.

Sometimes two people looking at the same project will see different buttons, tabs, or statuses. In Ressio, that’s expected in many cases and usually comes down to four things:

  1. Role permissions

  2. Company settings

  3. Project state

  4. Current company/project context

What changes what you see

  1. Role and permissions

Homeowners, contractor admins, and vendors have different access levels. If an action isn’t visible, your role may not include it.

  2. Company settings and enabled workflows

Each company can enable/disable features and workflow options. That can change labels, available actions, and what appears in side navigation.

  3. Project lifecycle state

What you can do in Draft, Sent, Approved, Rejected, or Paid stages is different. Some actions only appear in specific states.

  4. Current context

If you belong to multiple companies or projects, make sure you’re in the expected one. Context switching can make the app look very different.

Common examples

“I can’t see Approve / Reject.”

  • ❓Likely cause: role permissions or current project state.

  • ✅ Check: your role + whether the selection is currently awaiting approval.

“My payment statuses look different than my teammate’s.”

  • ❓Likely cause: company payment workflow settings or timing/state.

  • ✅ Check: payment workflow config + current invoice/payment state.

“The selection flow changed after rejection.”

  • ❓Likely cause: state-dependent behavior after reject/revise/resend.

  • ✅ Check: current selection state and who owns the next action.

"I don’t see tabs from onboarding docs.”

  • ❓Likely cause: feature not enabled for your company/plan, or role-limited visibility.

  • Check: company feature settings + your permissions.

60-second self-check

  1. Confirm your role in the account.

  2. Confirm the active company and project.

  3. Check whether key workflow settings are enabled.

  4. Refresh the page and re-open the workflow you’re troubleshooting.

  5. Compare against a teammate in the same role/context, if possible.
