Working offline in Ressio

Learn what you can do in Ressio when you do not have internet access, including creating Daily Logs and tracking time offline.

Ressio’s offline work tools help field teams keep working when they are on a jobsite with little or no internet connection.

When you lose service, you can still use supported offline features in Ressio. Your work is saved on your device and syncs back to Ressio when your internet connection returns.

Offline work is currently available for:
  • Daily Logs
  • Adding Daily Logs while offline
  • Time Clock / time tracking

Offline work is designed for field users who need to document work or track time from basements, rural jobsites, commercial buildings, or other areas with poor service.

🎗️ When offline, reroute to the cached daily logs page. Ressio’s PWA does not fetch new data in the background; only data seen in your last session is available.

Before you begin

Before working offline, make sure:

  • You are already signed in to Ressio
  • You are using the device you normally use in the field
  • You keep the same browser or app session open when possible
  • You reconnect to the internet when you are ready for your offline work to sync

⚠️ Offline work is saved on the device you used while you are offline.  If you switch devices before reconnecting, your offline work may not be available on the second device.

How offline Daily Logs work

Daily Logs can be created while you are offline. This helps you record jobsite activity at the time it happens, even if you do not have cell service or Wi-Fi.

Use offline Daily Logs when you need to record:

  • Work completed that day
  • Job notes
  • Crew activity
  • Weather or site conditions
  • Important updates from the field

To add a Daily Log while offline:

  1. Open the project in Ressio
  2. Go to Daily Log
  3. Add a new + Daily Log
  4. Enter the Daily Log details
  5. Save the Daily Log

Ressio keeps the Daily Log on your device while you are offline. When your connection returns, Ressio syncs the Daily Log back to the project.

💡If you are working in an area with poor service, enter the Daily Log while the details are fresh. You do not need to wait until you are back at the office. 💡

How offline time tracking works

Offline time tracking lets you use the Time Clock even when your device does not have an internet connection.

You can:

  • Clock in while offline
  • Clock out while offline
  • Stay clocked in if your connection drops during a shift
  • Sync your time entry when your connections returns

✅ Example:

  1. You arrive at a jobsite with no service
  2. You clock in using the Time Clock
  3. Ressio saves the clock-in time on your device
  4. You keep working
  5. You clock out later
  6. When your connection returns, Ressio syncs the time entry

This helps prevent gaps in labor records when crews work in low-service areas.

What happens when you are back online

When your internet connection returns, Ressio syncs your offline work.

This means:
  • Offline Daily Logs are sent back to the project
  • Offline time entries are sent back to Ressio
  • Pending work updates from your device
  • Ressio may show a syncing or pending status while it finishes

🚨 Do not close the app immediately after reconnecting. Give Ressio time to finish syncing your offline work.

What does not work offline

Offline work does not mean all of Ressio works without internet.

Currently, offline work is limited to:

  • Daily Logs
  • Adding Daily Logs offline
  • Time Clock / time tracking

The following actions still require an internet connection:

  • Messaging
  • File uploads
  • Budget updates
  • Estimates
  • Invoices
  • Approvals
  • Change Orders
  • Specs
  • Schedule updates
  • Customer portal actions
  • Vendor portal actions
  • Admin settings

⚠️ If you try to use a feature that is not available offline, reconnect to the internet and try again.
